Artist's Comments

These are original sprites I designed for a platformer game. I like bats. And skulls.

The animation was done entirely in Photoshop cs2, which was a pain. But I got to use my math skills - all the floating objects are oscillating on a Sin(x) wave.

25 hours or so, all said and done.

I'd like to start off by saying that this piece does what it's supposed to do. It truely looks lik a level from a platformer game. What makes it more apparent is the ammount of detail put into everything. I also liked the black backround. It draws all of the viewers attention to the "level". the animation is done just right. just choppy enough to look retro, but not overly choppy like someone trying too hard.
This also just screams imagination. It seems like a whole new wolrd, waiting to be explored. And with so much hapening, why wouldn't you want to?

First of all, I am quite sure that I am not alone when I say, this piece is fantastic, and I wonder why your gallery doesn't have more of this.

The amount of time spent on this piece is very clear in all of the details, and I love how it covers all of the elements, and looks so completely natural at the same time. It really does seem like every time I look, there is something new about it. The frogs, the fireflies, the sparks coming off of the lava pit, the flickering lights and candles, the glowing cave.. there is so much too look at here, and not one bit of it seems out of place.

Wow that's awesome! Amazing details in the textures :) I really like how you made the lit up places flicker in the light. And of course, the bats are really spiffy ;)
